About the Annex

The Old Barn annex is integral to a converted 18th century listed Kentish Barn. Situated in the heart of the "Darling buds of May country", and a good central base for visiting all the local sights and gardens of Kent and East Sussex, including;
Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, (Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicholson),
Leeds Castle ("The prettiest castle in the world"),
The moated Bodiam Castle.
Why not also visit: Tenterden, home of the Kent & Sussex Steam Railway, and our local villages which include: Smarden (for the timber framed houses), Pluckley where "The darling buds of May" was filmed, reputed to be the most haunted village in England (Spooooky-we have a map of all the ghost sightings), Appledore and Biddenden (Famous for the two Maydes).

The cobbled streets of the walled town of Rye, Canterbury and its magnificent Cathederal, are all close by. Ashford, and the International Station is only 10 mins, EuroTunnel 20 mins, Folkestone & Dover for the Castle and Ferries only 30 mins, (All times are approximate and may vary depending on conditions). So why not enjoy a Continental trip whilst you are here?

Also, we are on the Ashford to Tenterden bus route, and our local train station at Pluckley is 3 miles. London is about an hour away, taking you right to the heart of the City or West-End, for Theatres, Museums, and the famous sights.
